Museums"
Introduction to Museum Work
The Heritage Network Atlantic is a collaborative initiative of the
Community Museums Association of Prince Edward Island, the Federation
of Nova Scotian Heritage and the Museum Association of Newfoundland and
Labrador.
This
program which has been made possible by the Canadian Heritage
Information Network (CHIN) offers an entry-level museum training course
for use by museum workers, volunteers and seasonal guides. “The Bare Essentials of
Museums” has 6 modules offering a multi-media training
experience for those interested in learning more about museums and
their operation. Each module provides a “test yourself” component which
will help you gauge how well the material has been understood.
We will be using multi-media technology in many of the modules and it
will be necessary for you to have the proper software and plug-ins
installed on your system. Plug-ins include: Flash, Shockwave,
